VIDEO EDITOR

Description: Are you passionate about telling stories through film that compel viewers to take action for a beautiful cause? You would make a great Video Editor for Genderbands! We are looking for a creative and skillful volunteer to tell the story of Genderbands by assembling the best short promotional videos publicizing the organization’s mission of helping transgender people pay for transition-related costs. In this part-time, remote position, you will gain invaluable experience taking unedited recorded footage and creating final products that will be posted on Genderbands’ websites and social media platforms.



Job Responsibilities

  • Receive instructions from management to understand each video’s requirements and specifications

  • Trim and assemble footage segments to create a rough cut of the video

  • Add music, graphics, and effects as needed to augment the video

  • Correct lighting, coloring, and flawed footage

  • Receive feedback from the Executive Director (ED) and make corrections based on feedback

  • Follow Genderbands’ brand guidelines

  • Render the final cut and transfer it to Google Drive

  • Work closely with the ED throughout the process to create a final product that matches their vision

  • Other duties as needed

  • Report to the ED

Requirements

  • 5 hours per week per project, flexible schedule

  • Previous experience in video editing is required

  • Must wear a mask at all Genderbands in-person meetings and events, regardless of vaccination status or whether the event is indoors or outdoors

  • Able to use own computer/device to complete work (computer will not be provided for you)

  • Familiar with Google Drive and Slack, or willing to learn

  • Zoom installed on work device

  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently

  • Great time management skills

  • Great communication skills

  • Passion for Genderbands’ mission of helping transgender people pay for transition-related costs
